Online Learning

You are here

WEB or online learning is very different from attending a course in the face-to-face classroom.  Online learning requires much more time-management and communication skills on your part so it's important to get prepared in advance.  Yes, it's convenient and provides some flexibility to your schedule; however, the courses will be just as rigorous as the face-to-face classroom and actually may require more attention if this is your first time to take an online course.

Please note that the course delivery format for XXX will be WEB which means the courses will be delivered completely online (in Canvas), with no regular weekly lecture times or class times scheduled. The course is delivered over 15-weeks, just the same as resident classes, so you can't complete the course in just a few weeks. You must participate regularly and follow the syllabus.

If you have already taken an online course through Penn State World Campus, or another institution, you may be familiar with this type of learning delivery. Penn State and Penn State World Campus have some excellent resources to prepare for online learning and we have provided suggestions below to prepare for this course format. Please take the time to review, even IF you have already taken an online course.
