If you're currently attending a Penn State campus and considering transferring to a different Penn State campus, you can complete the change of campus process.
To be eligible for a change of campus, you must:
- Be enrolled in a major offered at that campus. To request a change to University park you cannot be a pre-major.
- Be between 4th and 5th semester standing (44.1–74 total credits earned).
- Request a permanent change to a campus where your major can be completed.
Permanent vs. Temporary Changes
You can request a permanent or temporary change of campus.
A temporary change of campus is an option if you plan to attend a different Penn State campus for one semester only.
Before submitting a request, talk with your assigned academic adviser to make sure this is the right option for you. If your temporary change is approved, you will return to your original campus at the end of the semester.
For more details on using the Update Campus feature, visit the LionPATH help page.
Changing Your Major and Campus
Changing your major and changing your campus are separate processes. If you need to change your major, you must complete that process before requesting a campus change.
If you plan to use a course from another institution to meet entrance-to-major (ETM) requirements, the course must be posted to your Penn State academic record before you can request a change of major or a change of campus.
If you have a change-of-major request in progress in Update Academics in LionPATH, you will not be able to submit a change-of-campus request. However, if you receive a conditional approval for your change of major, you may then submit a change-of-campus request.
