IST Diplomats

IST Diplomats are a distinguished group of student ambassadors who proudly represent the College of IST. As leaders and advocates, they help create a welcoming, inclusive community while building strong connections among students, faculty, staff, alumni, and industry partners.

Through service, outreach, and engagement, IST Diplomats play a vital role in sharing the IST experience and supporting the college’s mission. These student leaders represent IST at events across campus and beyond, offering unique insights into academic programs, career development resources, and student opportunities. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences make them the voice of the college.

Becoming an IST Diplomat

Applications to become an IST Diplomat open each fall and spring semester. As part of the application process, applicants should submit a 90-second video explaining why you want to be an IST Diplomat. This is your chance to showcase your personality and passion for the college so feel free to get as creative as you’d like!

Selected students must be available on Tuesdays from 1:35–2:50 p.m. for the IST Diplomat Training Course. This hands-on course focuses on leadership development, self-reflection, and practical skills to help you confidently represent IST.

By participating in the program, you’ll build meaningful connections with IST staff, alumni, and employers while developing leadership, communication, and networking skills that will prepare you for your future career after Penn State.
