You may request to waive the 9-credit specialization area requirement based on prior coursework completed at another accredited institution.

Eligibility Requirements

The course must be from an accredited institution.
A grade of A or B must have been earned.
The course must appear on an official graduate transcript.
The course must have been completed within five years of enrollment in the IST graduate program.

To request a waiver, you must submit

A completed Specialization Area Course Waiver Form.
An official transcript showing the course and grade.
The course syllabus for the proposed waiver.

Deadline

All waiver requests must be submitted by May 15 of your first year. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Graduate students wishing to travel to countries on the U.S. State Department Warnings List must abide by the University graduate student policy for travel to these countries.
