Recipients of the College of IST's graduate student awards can be nominated by any member of the Penn State community. Nominations should describe the reasons for your support of the candidate and include the nominee's current CV. You may also submit two additional documents, such as a copy of a published paper or additional letters of support.
A committee will review the nominations and select the awardees.
College of IST Ph.D. Award for Research Excellence
This award recognizes a senior College of IST doctoral student who has completed outstanding research, scholarship, and/or creativity during their career. At the time of application, the student must have passed the comprehensive exam.
College of IST Award for Excellence in Teaching Support
This award honors a College of IST graduate student who served as a teaching assistant or instructional assistant and who exhibited exemplary commitment to student learning, reflective teaching practices, leadership, and professional growth as a teacher.
College of IST Rising Star Award
This award honors a junior College of IST graduate student who has completed outstanding research, scholarship, and/or creativity during their career. At the time of application, the awardee must not have passed the comprehensive exam.
