Master's Culminating Experience

Master's Thesis

Review the M.S. Roadmap to become familiar with the details of the Master's Thesis process and expectations for the defense.

Follow these steps to schedule your M.S. Final Defense.

1. Email Jenna Hart at jns5431@psu.edu to reserve a room. If you have a room preference, include this in the email.
2. At least one month prior to your exam, submit an electronic Exam Request form.
3. Once the Office of Graduate Programs receives your exam request form, we will generate your Committee Appointment Signature form and send you an email with the form. You will be required to gather the necessary signatures and return the form to the Office of Graduate Programs.

Follow these steps to file the completion of your M.S. Scholarly Paper.

1. Email the Office of Graduate Program at istgradprograms@psu.edu with your plan for submitting your scholarly paper by the semester deadline:
   1. Spring: April 15
   2. Fall: November 15
   3. Summer: July 15
2. The Office of Graduate Programs will prepare the necessary paperwork for your advisor to complete after reviewing your paper.
