Spring 2026 Course Title: Special Topics

This graduate course examines current research on responsible generative AI, focusing on issues including safety, security, hallucination, and interpretability of large language models and diffusion models. Students will critically analyze and present recent papers, lead discussions on open challenges, and engage with case studies in real usage and applications. The course also emphasizes hands-on exploration through a final project where students design and evaluate methods to assess or improve the responsible usage of generative AI systems. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with both theoretical foundations and practical skills to contribute to advancing responsible generative AI research.
