Benji’s research interests revolve around how users come to understand their sense of self in society through everyday interactions with algorithmically personalized media. Specifically, they seek to explore the intersection of queer youth identity development and social media via participatory methods. Through this they hope to give voice to a minority whose agency is often hidden and/or ignored within contemporary social and political discourses.
