Research Interests:

My current research is to address the question of how training materials and trainees’ characteristics interact to influence the training outcome for certain tasks. There are two goals in this project: to present a theory of training that helps in designing training systems, and to develop practical training systems. Before joining Penn State I did research on modeling human learning of functional relations—or function learning. So, my professional interest lies in studying human learning and performance for practical applications. My personal interests include writing critical commentaries in various areas, reading and writing in philosophy, and listening to classical music. Feel free to contact me if you want to know about the lab, the PhD program, or research in the area.
