Office of Faculty Affairs

IST BuildingThe Office of Faculty Affairs is responsible for all aspects of administration pertaining to faculty. This office works with the Dean's Office and is responsible for promotions, leaves, annual reviews, and other matters involving faculty appointments and activities.

In addition, the following Administrative support will be provided to faculty:

  • Maintaining an inventory of office supplies and issuing those supplies to faculty members.
  • Purchasing goods and equipment for faculty members.

Emergency Planning

Emergency Evacuation
The protection of employees, students, and visitors at Penn State is of paramount importance. Please take a moment to review this important information. It is important to be familiar with what you would do in the event of a fire or another situation that requires immediate evacuation.

Emergency Numbers
In any emergency situation, you should call 911 as soon as possible. The phone number for University Police (University Park) is 814-863-8111 (or 3-1111 from a campus phone). Both 911 and 814-863-8111 will work for University Park campus emergencies.

Penn State Emergency Alerts
PSUAlert is Penn State’s notification system for students, faculty and staff, and is used to alert members of the Penn State community of emergencies, campus closings, and other timely information.

Penn State Emergency Management Resources
Penn State’s emergency management team maintains a website that provides links to information on a variety of safety and emergency topics such as medical emergencies, evacuations, suspicious packages, bomb threats, flooding, workplace violence, severe weather, power outages, hazardous materials, etc.

Required Travel Forms and Research Policies

Important information regarding travel:

  1. All IST faculty members are strongly encouraged to obtain their personal Penn State Credit card for goods and services and for travel. Please obtain your purchasing card at the following link: Penn State Purchasing Card
  2. Faculty members are required to complete paperwork for group meal forms, purchasing card support forms, and travel forms

International Travel - All faculty and students traveling internationally must register with the Travel Safety Network before departure.
