Dr. Hong Hu is an Assistant Professor at Pennsylvania State University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore and previously held positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Scientist at Georgia Tech. His research focuses on system and software security, with an emphasis on detecting critical program vulnerabilities through fuzzing, uncovering novel memory error attack vectors such as data-only attacks, and developing robust defense mechanisms like control-flow integrity. His work has been published in top-tier security conferences, including IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, ACM CCS, and NDSS. Dr. Hu is the recipient of several honors, including the ACM CCS Best Paper Award (2019), ICECCS Best Paper Award (2014), ACM CCS Best Reviewer Award (2022), and the NSF CAREER Award (2024).
