Henry Moeller led National Guard detachment at memorial service

On May 19, U.S. soldiers and airmen with the Pennsylvania National Guard represented their units at the 28th Infantry Division Memorial Service at Boalsburg, Pennsylvania. Gold Star families, retired veterans and local residents attended the service, which is held each year to honor those who gave their lives to protect the nation.

Henry Moeller, lecturer in the Penn State College of IST, led the detachment from the 1-108th Field Artillery out of the Carlisle barracks. The ceremony included the traditional placing of the wreaths at shrine monuments, a roll call of units that lost soldiers and a solemn reading of “I Am the Guard,” which recounts a brief history of the National Guard’s domestic and foreign service to the nation.
