Donors Visit Chaiken Center for Student Success in IST

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The second-largest donors in Penn State history visited Westgate Building on Nov. 8 to tour the newly dedicated Roz and Gene Chaiken Center for Student Success in the College of Information Sciences and Technology in E103 Westgate Building.

The center was created thanks to a landmark contribution from Roz and Gene Chaiken earlier this year. The generous donors explored the space with Dean Andrea Tapia and engaged with IST students, staff and faculty.

“The Chaikens were really pleased,” said Mary Kay Paterno Hort, director of prospect engagement and operations for the University. “The students were a hit and of course so was Dean Tapia.”

Tailored to the needs of IST students, the new center builds upon the college’s existing academic support offerings to create and enhance services, programs and spaces that promote academic, personal and professional success through peer mentoring, community building and partnerships.
