Biography

Dr. Santoro is one of the founding faculty members of the College of IST, joining IST in 1999.  He is Program Coordinator for the SRA/BS degree and Coordinator of Campus Academic Affairs for the College.  He was recipient of the 1983 Catherine Ofeish Orner award for innovative research in the Information Sciences, the 1991 EDUCOM Joe Wyatt award for innovative use of computers in University education, and the 2014 President’s Award for Excellence from the National Professional Science Master’s Association (NPSMA).  Santoro's work focuses on 3 primary areas: (a) information security, (b) computer-mediated communications, and (c) the relationship between popular culture and emerging technologies.
