Research Interests

I am interested in all of applied statistics! I like to tackle meaningful problems in biomedical and social science data, and I also like to work in areas related to data sharing, including data privacy and other methods for reproducible research.

Statistical Data Privacy

  • Synthetic data
  • Developing privacy methods for complicated data (spatial, longitudinal, zero-inflated, etc.)
  • Privacy-preserving statistical inference
  • Deploying privacy methods and user education
  • Ethics of privacy

Statistical methods

  • Statistical methods for zero-inflated data
  • Analysis of sequence count data (e.g. microbiome data)
  • Distributed data techniques
  • Data reduction
  • Natural language processing
  • Time series
