  • Received 'Excellence in Teaching 2017-2018/' (Outstanding TA) award. Awarded annually to only one student in the entire College of Information Sciences and Technology,
  • Selected as “among individuals of exceptional quality that have demonstrated their passion to utilize technology and innovation for impact and potential to be future leaders”, from a pool of 2,000+ applicants by the World Bank Technology Innovation group, Washington DC,
  • Recipient of Young ICT Leader-2017 fellowship awarded by the International Telecommunications Unit, a United Nations IT Wing in Busan, Korea,
  • Recipient of Australian Endeavour Research fellowship, category value of AUD 24,500, competitive merit based award by the Australian Department of Education and Training,
  • Won First position in a week-long HCI Research Challenge held in Croatia, July 11–16, 2016,
  • Mentored undergraduate team in IST to win a 2nd position in Ideamaker entrepreneurship competition at Penn State, April 2015 (e-MED),
  • Elected Vice President of Graduate Student Council at Penn State IST department, 2016-2017,
  • Chaired first ever Graduate Entrepreneurship Workshop held on March 22-26, 2018 at Penn State

I focus primarily in areas of education technologies and learning sciences. I am also currently looking at issues of equity in design as well as fairness/discrimination/bias/ethics in AI enabled technology systems and algorithms.
