Change of Campus

Itemized below is the process through which students must go to change to University Park and provides links to other sites that contain special information to meet the special needs of change of location (assignment) students. For any change of location other than the University Park, please contact the IST champion at that campus.

Changing to University Park as part of the Entrance-to-Major Process

  1. The approval for the change of location to University Park is automatic for all students who have met the IST entrance-to-major (ETM) requirements and selected the University Park campus as first choice during the ETM process.
  2. Once students receive the official approval for the change of location (usually in mid-March), students may register for courses at UP via e-Lion for the following fall semester. Students should consult with their campus adviser for the appropriate selection of courses.
  3. Visit the Undergraduate Admissions' Web site for information about making the transition to University Park. You will be referred to information about resources, housing, and programs.
  4. If you applied for on-campus housing at UP and are interested in being considered for the IST Interest House please note this on your housing application form. Also check out the IST Student Government’s site for additional student-related information.
  5. Participate in the Orientation activities at University Park at the beginning of the fall semester and attend the College of Information Sciences and Technology meetings designed for change of location students. These activities are listed in the Orientation Express, a publication that should be sent to you before you move to University Park.
  6. Make sure that you have the contact information for your University Park adviser. If you do not have your adviser’s information, contact the IST Undergraduate Advising Center via e-mail at advising@ist.psu.edu or call 814-865-8947 for this information.
  7. Make an appointment to get acquainted with your adviser during your first week at University Park. You are also welcome to meet with an adviser in the Undergraduate Advising Center, 104 IST building.
