Each year, CSRAI hosts a series of events that challenge the Penn State community to explore the potential and pitfalls of AI. Whether it's uncovering generative AI's built-in biases or investigating how AI can be used to answer college-level exam questions, each challenge offers a unique opportunity to explore a different dimension of the opportunities and risks presented by AI.
Bias-a-Thon
Bias-a-thon challenges participants to create prompts that expose biases and confront stereotypes perpetuated by current generative AI tools.
Cheat-a-Thon
Cheat-a-thon challenges university faculty to create questions that are difficult for generative AI to answer, and then challenges students to use generative AI to answer them.
Diagnose-a-Thon
Diagnose-a-thon challenged participants to test how well generative AI tools could handle health-related information and provide advice to people seeking guidance about their personal health.
Fake-a-Thon
Fake-a-thon challenges participants to use generative AI to create fake news stories and then see how easily others can detect them.
Research-a-thon
Research-a-thon celebrates the innovative uses of generative AI in the research process.
Teach-a-Thon
Teach-a-thon challenges participants to share how they have thoughtfully adapted their courses to address the challenges and opportunities posed by AI technologies.
