Do you use generative AI platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot, or other generative AI tools to conduct your research? If so, tell us how and you may be in line for a cash prize!
The Center for Socially Responsible AI at Penn State is excited to announce the Research-A-Thon, a University-wide competition celebrating innovative uses of generative AI in the research process. Generative AI might play a role in your literature review, hypothesis generation, experimental design, data collection and analysis, modeling and simulation, communication of results, or any other research tasks. We want to see creative and impactful examples of how these tools are changing the way research is conducted and what researchers can accomplish.
We invite researchers from across Penn State to participate, individually or as collaborative teams. Projects from any discipline or research area are welcome.
All submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. on December 1, 2026.
