Engaging with alumni as a student

Through the IST Undergraduate Student Council, I had the privilege of planning alumni networking events that led to meaningful conversations beyond surface-level introductions. And as an IST Diplomat, I met with the Dean’s Advisory Board on multiple occasions and received incredible support from its members. Those interactions went beyond career advice: We discussed their passions, how they balance demanding careers with personal life, and the advice they had for me as I prepared for life after graduation. I was also fortunate to attend the Tapia Conference 2025 and the Grace Hopper Celebration 2024, experiences that reinforced how far-reaching the IST alumni network truly is. Running into IST alumni at both events was a testament to how impactful this community is, and those connections have since led to interviews and lasting professional relationships.

Engaging with students as an alumna

I would love to stay connected with IST after graduation—whether that means mentoring current students, speaking at the Be You in Tech Summit, or returning to campus for recruiting. From the moment I arrived at IST, I knew I would want to give back to the college that gave me a second home, a community, and opportunities I never could have anticipated.

...not a one-size-fits-all concept. A traditional path isn't the only path. Passionate about music technology, health tech, or even agricultural innovation? Go for it! Technology is whatever you make it.
