That's a Wrap!
2024 marked 25 years of IST. That called for a celebration!
Last October, IST alumni and friends joined students, staff, and faculty at University Park for two days of events celebrating 25 years since the college opened its doors.
Day one of the celebration began with nearly 20 alumni engaging with students in the classroom.
That was followed by the Open House. Attendees explored the college’s past, present, and future via a walking tour featuring Westgate Building’s collaborative classrooms, research laboratories, faculty offices, and student gathering spaces.
The IST Celebrates 25 Years Kick-Off Party at the Nittany Lion Inn was next, offering refreshments, music, a photobooth, caricatures, and a guest appearance by the Nittany Lion.
Day two began with the Alumni Symposium at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub. Colin Murphy ’03, president of the IST Alumni Society Board, gave the opening remarks, and Dean Andrea Tapia delivered the State of the College address. Faculty presented the keynote address and moderated discussion panels with alumni. Student organization representatives shared updates, and three graduates were honored with IST alumni awards.
The celebration wrapped up with the Closing Ceremony, featuring cornhole and ice cream!
