Major Spotlight Event Series

We are excited to announce our next event in the Major Spotlight Event Series, the HCDD Career Exploration Day. The series highlights a College of IST major, corresponding career paths, and professional opportunities. In Spring 2023, we will be hosting the Human-Centered Design and Development Career Exploration Day on March 22.

Students interested in pursuing career paths in this field will be here to meet with your organization and learn about what a "day in the life" looks like, what skills are necessary, and to learn about your open full-time and internship positions. Many of the student attendees will be pursuing degrees within the College of Information Sciences and Technology, but all Penn State students interested in these careers are welcome to attend.

Event Logistics

Agenda:

  • 12-1 p.m. | Employer check-in and booth set up. If you shipped materials, these will be at your table.
  • 1 p.m. | Booths open; student check-in begins.
  • 1-4 p.m. | Engage with students interested in careers within human-centered design and development
  • 4 p.m. | Career Exploration Day ends

Parking:

Visitor parking is available in the West Deck and the Nittany Parking Deck. Please note that there is ongoing construction on the west side of campus so plan extra time to park and walk to the Westgate Building (approximately 5-minute walk from each deck). Signs will guide you around the construction areas from the West Deck to the Westgate Building.

Upon entry into either deck, take a ticket. Please keep this ticket with you as you will need to pay before exiting the deck. Unfortunately, we are not able to validate parking for either deck. Parking rates are $1.00 per hour.

Shipping Materials

Boxes and materials may be shipped to the Westgate Building for arrival no earlier than the week before the event. Please email Brianne Lippert at bek147@psu.edu to provide details on the expected delivery date and number of boxes.
