MPS in EABT and HLS-ISF Majors
EA/IST 594: Research Project – This course is a two-semester research project where the student, guided by the instructor, conducts research of interest. The first part is spent identifying a specific problem, preparing the research questions, preparing a plan to collect and analyze data. The second portion is spent conducting the survey, collecting data and preparing the formal research paper. It is research, reading and writing intensive. EA/IST 594 courses MUST be scheduled in consecutive semesters. You should schedule your 2-credit 594 course in your next to last semester and the 1-credit 594 course in your final semester. You will have the same instructor for both semesters. You will discuss your research project or paper with your 594 instructor individually as well as decide on your research methodologies and begin your research in the 2-credit course. Then, you will finalize your research, write your paper, and present your work in the 1-credit course.
MPS in CYMPS & INSCI Majors

IST 894: Cyber Event Simulation and Analysis – This 3-credit course uses a Cyber event simulation (often referred as Cyber Range), which by its nature, allows for a variety of real-world Cybersecurity scenarios/problems to be simulated for students. Students are expected to utilize the knowledge and skills gained in previous coursework to solve each Cybersecurity scenario/problem in a given week of the class. IST 894 is completed in one semester, should be scheduled in your last or next to last semester.
