"There's No Place Like Home"

C. Frank Igwé ’08g, founder of Moravia Health, was presented the Dean's Alumni Excellence Award.

Presented at the behest of the dean, the Dean's Alumni Excellence Award was created in 2024 to highlight and celebrate the extraordinary work and accomplishments of IST alumni. Dean Andrea Tapia presented the inaugural honor to C. Frank Igwé ’08g at a ceremony in Philadelphia last November.

Igwé earned his doctoral degree from IST in 2008. In 2012, he founded Moravia Health, where he now serves as president. Based in Pennsylvania, Moravia Health provides home health care to thousands of clients across the United States.

“Frank is an example of someone who’s using his IST degree to improve people’s lives,” Tapia said. “A socio-technical scholar, Frank employs technology to support health care, aging, and recovering in place.”

With the tagline “There’s No Place Like Home,” Igwé’s Moravia Health is committed to the belief that health care is a basic human right. Its vision is for all clients to achieve maximum independence in their homes and communities through quality home care and support.

Igwé also founded Moravia Cares, a nonprofit that helps low-income families in Pennsylvania and other states across the nation. The organization supports families in need by providing food, clothing, and other necessary resources.
