The College of IST has gained new space in Suite 105 of the 330 Building at Innovation Park. This new space will primarily support graduate education and research, and we see tremendous potential to collaborate with Student Engagement. We believe partnering together can help foster a strong sense of community, support student success and generate novel and impactful research outcomes.
What to Know
Innovation Park
Penn State's business and research park located east of campus beyond Beaver Stadium. IST's space is in the 330 Building.
IST Innovation East
Located in the 330 Building at Innovation Park, this is the name of the College of IST's research and graduate space at Innovation Park.
Suite 105
This is the physical location of IST Innovation East within the 330 Building at Innovation Park.
Timeline for Occupancy
We are targeting full occupancy by mid-September 2026.
Furniture Plan
Most furniture will be repurposed from current IST inventory to maximize available space and resources. New purchases will supplement existing inventory where needed, focusing on functionality, collaboration, and flexible use.
Space Enhancements
The space will feature freshly painted rooms, IST branding, and faculty-named labs.
Access
The 330 Building at Innovation Park is open to the public from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Those requiring access outside these hours please contact facilities. facilities@ist.psu.edu
The college's space in Suite 105 is a secure, swipe-access-only area and remains locked 24/7. Guests are very welcome. Please coordinate your visit with faculty and students with assigned research lab or hotel office place within the suite. See below for IST Innovation East faculty.
Who will be located at IST Innovation East?
IST Innovation East is a shared community space that is open, welcoming, and accessible to the entire IST community.
Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Affairs Carleen Maitland and Administrative Assistant Hannah Mitrakos will be relocating their offices to IST Innovation East and will serve as points of contact for the space. In addition to helping coordinate space usage, we are especially excited to support the growth of a welcoming, inclusive, and collaborative community.
Our vision is to create a space filled with positive energy—one where graduate students, faculty, and researchers feel a strong sense of belonging; where collaboration happens naturally; and where new ideas, partnerships, and connections can flourish. We look forward to helping make IST Innovation East a destination where people enjoy working, learning, and engaging with one another.
Graduate Student Support Locations
Together, these locations provide spaces for academic support, research collaboration, professional development, and community engagement throughout the college. Graduate students can access support and resources across multiple IST locations, including:
- Eric Barron Innovation Hub EBIH - 123 S. Burrowes St. (Graduate Programs Office, Barron Innovation Hub, 4th floor)
- Westgate Building - 288 North Burrowes Rd. (Chaiken Center, E103 Westgate Building)

Parking and Transportation
Parking at IST Innovation East is free! However, you must fill out a parking pass form that renews every semester.
To access Innovation Park without a car, you can take the Campus Shuttle via Beaver Avenue.
Students can take advantage of the University's two Lyft programs for ride credits.
Additional transportation options may be accessed through CATA Bus.

Where do visitors park?
Visitors may park in designated Innovation Park visitor parking areas.
Can I bring guests?
Yes. Guests and visitors are welcome in the space.
How are hotel offices assigned?
Hotel offices are assigned to faculty. However, they may be used by visitors and other community members when not occupied by the assigned faculty member.
What equipment can be stored in the space?
Equipment may be stored in locked cabinets and locked storage rooms.
How do I reserve meeting space?
Reservation procedures are currently being finalized. More information will be available soon.
