Health Informatics and AI – Human-Centered Design Perspectives explores how emerging technologies—particularly AI and personal/family informatics tools—are shaping health and wellness practices in everyday life.
Students will critically examine case studies on topics such as chronic illness management, behavior change models, family-centered design, and technology acceptance, while gaining hands-on training in human-centered design methods including user research and prototyping.
The course culminates in a project where students design technology for a health or wellness topic in real life, providing both practical training and the opportunity to produce a portfolio-ready piece that demonstrates their skills and domain expertise.
