Course Topic: Mathematical Structure of Intelligence
What is intelligence? Most AI researchers can't even answer that question, but this course will. We'll build up, from first principles, the mathematical structure that any intelligence - artificial, biological, or purely theoretical - must follow. Then we'll discover the hard limits on what any intelligence can know or figure out about itself and the world. For example, are there aspects of intelligence that we'll never know? Yes - and we'll prove it. You'll learn about Turing machines, the halting problem, Gödel's famous incompleteness theorems, and a remarkable theoretical blueprint called Gödel machines - the structure theorem for intelligence. No advanced math background required. The math is accessible. The implications are profound. And the course will be fun!
