The Penn State Outstanding IST Alumni Award recognizes graduates who have reached exceptional levels of professional achievement. Established in 2013 to recognize the 10-year anniversary of our first graduating class, the award is one of the highest honors bestowed by the College of IST.
Please note, eligibility for the award is limited to individuals who have graduated from the University at least 10 years ago.
The purpose shall be to recognize and reward outstanding Penn State IST alumni for their success as leaders in their professional field and for the impact they have had and will continue to have on society and their profession. These exceptional alumni should provide outstanding role models for current IST students.
Any person may be nominated who is an alumnus/ae of the Penn State College of IST. Eligibility for the award is limited to individuals who have graduated from the University at least 10 years prior. Eligible candidates should have a record of professional achievements which are widely recognized for their quality and significance.
One nomination may be submitted by each alumni or faculty member. Nominators will be responsible for the preparation of a nomination dossier which includes a completed nomination form and any other appropriate documentation to present the best case for selection. The nominee should NOT be contacted for information. All nominations shall be submitted prior to the selection date. Please submit your nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include the nominees name and why they deserved to be nominated.
Recipients of this award shall be selected by a committee appointed by the Dean, College of Information Sciences and Technology.
The title "Outstanding IST Alumnus/Alumna," a permanent designation, shall be conferred upon each recipient of the Award by the Dean of the College of Information Sciences and Technology at an award brunch. The Outstanding IST Alumni awardees will be asked to return to campus to receive their awards and to interact in specific and significant ways with College of IST students, faculty, and alumni.
