Health and Bioinformatics
Health and Bio Informatics research aims to improve the quality of health care and the fundamental understandings about biological sciences using novel information technology.
Research topics include information sharing support for medical decision-making teams, innovative content-based image processing techniques for biomedical studies, DNA sequence alignment, diabetes self-management using digital imagery, HIV/AIDS health education, and Penn State’s “Smart Space” initiative for enhancing the quality of life among the aging population through information technologies.
