Centers and Labs
The College of Information Sciences and Technology's research centers and labs cover a broad spectrum of research areas, including human-computer interaction, the information society, information assurance, and cyber security. We also research intelligent agents, intelligent information systems, applied cognitive science, and many other areas. In addition to our own facilities, we have an affiliated research center and relationships with related centers and labs.
Penn State has received the following designations from the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security:
- National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Research (2008-2013)
- National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (since 2003)
