Government Partnerships

IST researchers design computer-aided system to improve decision making. IST researchers demonstrate intelligent-agent software to Army officers.

Penn State and the College of Information Sciences and Technology have developed special partnerships with selected government agencies. The partnerships provide the opportunity for exchange of data and information to support research, opportunities for IST students for internships, and research funding to support IST faculty and graduate students. A summary of the government partnerships is provided below.

We have a relationship with the National Security Agency (http://www.nsa.gov/) via our recognition by NSA as a national educational center of excellence in information assurance and cyber security.

We have an Educational Partnershipwith the USAF Research Laboratory, the Human Effectiveness Directorate at AFRL, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (http://www.he.afrl.af.mil/).

Penn State has a special contract relationship with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (http://www.dtra.mil/).

Penn State is the U. S. Marine Corp Research University (http://www.mcru.org/) and conducts research and training for the United States Marine Corps (USMC).

The Penn State Applied Research Laboratory (http://www.arl.psu.edu) is a Department of Defense University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) and conducts special research in information technology for Department of Defense applications.
