...
Now in its fourth year as a student organization, the staff of the Magazine of Information Sciences and Technology (MIST) has just released its latest edition of this e-publication at ist.psu.edu/mist.

The Fall 2002 edition contains articles about student perspectives on their internships, a Habitat for Humanity initiative to include computers in new homes, plus many updates on current happenings within IST.

Authors for this edition include Jonathan Korteweg, Shara Beach Rosencrance, Alfredo Acin, and Natalie Hamilla, with contributors Kevin Nick and Justin Plock. Another new feature of the magazine is something that readers won’t see. 5Design Editor Adam Zolyak recently created a log-in portal for MIST staffers to submit articles and photos and edit their profiles themselves, saving the Design Team time usually spent on uploading and formatting articles to the Web site.

In addition to Adam and myself, this year’s officers include Maggie Sapovchak, content editor, and Shara Beach Rosencrance, secretary. Rose Pruyne and Charlie DuBois serve as co-advisers.

Preparations are under way for the spring edition of MIST, which will focus on the Class of ’03 as it prepares to become the first full class of bachelor’s degree graduates from IST. New members are always welcome to help write and design the magazine. To learn more about getting involved, please contact me at mxs615@psu.edu.
