The start of the fall semester will be a busy one in the College of Information Sciences and Technology. The following events are planned for the first few weeks of classes:

Student registration for the IST Professional Expo opens on Aug. 24, the first day of classes for Penn State students. The expo is the college’s recruiting fair for internship and full-time job placement and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 14, on the second floor of the IST Building. Students can visit proexpo.ist.psu.edu to register.

The college's annual Connections Day, which provides an opportunity for students to learn about clubs and organizations within the college, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 2, on the second floor of the IST Building.

At 6 p.m. that evening, Ernst & Young will sponsor a “Dress for Success” event in room 208 IST Building. Company representatives will be on hand to discuss appropriate attire for internship and job interviews.

Johnson & Johnson and the IST Student Government will sponsor a “welcome back” picnic for all College of IST students beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 4 on the IST building’s east lawn. Lunch will be served. An RSVP is recommended for that event -- visit ist.psu.edu/WelcomeBack to register.

In conjunction with Pro Expo, Fidelity Investments will sponsor an interviewing skills workshop from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 in room 208 IST Building. Students are encouraged to submit their questions to Fidelity’s Karen Sturzenacker at karen.sturzenacker@fmr.com by Sept. 9 so they can be addressed in her presentation.

Additionally, PricewaterhouseCoopers will sponsor the college’s annual dining etiquette presentation and dinner from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the Nittany Lion Inn. Students can visit ist.psu.edu/etiquette to register.
