TEDxPSU looking for speakers and presenters for 2011 event

The 2011 TEDxPSU event will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2011 on the Penn State University Park campus, following a successful first run last year. The Executive Team for TEDxPSU is encouraging potential speakers and presenters with the desire and motivation to broadcast their unique messages to complete the 2011 Speaker Application. The application will remain open from Monday, July 11, until FRIDAY, AUGUST 12 (EXTENDED DEADLINE), and first round interviews will begin the following week. Those interested in applying should complete the application, which can be found at http://www.tedxpsu.com by the listed date. A nomination form is also available online, which will remain open during the application process. Speakers will be chosen based on their expertise in a specific discipline and their ability to trigger conversation and inspire action. A list of past speakers and presenters is available online.

"In 2010, the entire executive team was blown away by the response to TEDxPSU. Event videos from 2010 have recently hit more than 850,000 views online  and we are excited to begin the planning process for TEDxPSU in 2011," says Zach Zimbler, TEDxPSU curator. "Our hope is to create a more sustainable community that fosters innovation and honest discussions."

This is the second year that TEDxPSU will be held at Penn State. In the spirit of TED, the Executive Team is planning an all-encompassing event that will support the spread of innovation, the advancement of ideas and the stimulation of conversation.
