Jack Carroll recently received the Alfred N. Goldsmith Award for Distinguished IST. Contributions to Engineering Communication for 2004 from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) The award given annually by IEEE recognizes individuals whose professional achievements and career-long contributions have made a lasting impact on engineers and professional communicators.
Jim Jansen recently was selected to serve on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Library and Information Science Research. Jansen also recently had published Web Search: Public Searching of the Web by Jim Jansen and Amanda Spink (formerly of IST).
Eileen Trauth is serving as editor of the Encyclopedia of Gender and Information Technology, an international compilation of research on gender and IT. Scheduled for release in 2006, the book is being published by Idea Group, Inc.
