IST Graduates Find Success in the Job Market

IST graduates are in demand by industry. About 90 percent of the Class of '04 has jobs.
IST graduates continue to find success in the job market with almost 90 percent of the Class of '04 employed, according to the most recent survey.

But the number likely will be even higher. Placement rates are ahead of where they were last year at this time. The placement rate of the Class of '03 at the one-year mark: 98 percent.

"We don't know how many of the 30 students who didn't answer the survey have jobs or are considering offers," said Shaun Knight, IST's professional placement coordinator.

The average salary of the 177 graduates who filled out this year's survey is $54,000— $3,000 more than the average salary of '03 graduates. Knight anticipates that even before fall semester begins, some students in the Class of '05 will return from summer internships with job offers.
