Scholarship Recipients Announced

Scholarship recipients named.
Seven new and returning students will receive scholarships from IST for the 04-05 year.

Emily Bando, a first-year student from N. Huntingdon, Pa., will receive a Joel and Peggy Myers Scholarship and a Dean's Scholarship. Bando attended the Pennsylvania Governor's School for Information Technology at Penn State in summer 2003.

Also a first-year student, Rachel Burkardt, West Chester, Pa., has been selected for the Grandchildren of Margaret Jones & Eugene Lear Scholarship and a Dean's Scholarship. Burkardt is a 2004 graduate of B. Reed Henderson High School.

Pedro Huerta, Lancaster, is the beneficiary of a Bell Family Trustee Scholarship. Huerta, a first-year student, is a native of Peru.

A senior, Connie Leu will receive a Towers Perrin Scholarship. A Dean's List student, Leu interned this summer in the e-commerce department of JPMorgan Chase's Investment Bank sector.

Brad Ottino, a freshman from Little Falls, N.J., has been chosen to receive the Schacht-Hintz Scholarship and a Dean's Scholarship.

Simon Pang, a junior from Macungie, Pa., has been chosen to receive a Bell Family Trustee Scholarship. This past summer Pang worked as an intern with the global IT division of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.

First-year student Jeffrey M. Vernon, Danville, has been selected for a Joel and Peggy Myers Scholarship and a Dean's Scholarship. An Eagle Scout, Vernon was an honors student through high school and played varsity football at Danville Area Senior High School.
