"A Conversation With Michael Dell"

Michael Dell, founder of Dell, comes to campus Sept. 3 to share his insights.
Dell founder and chairman-of-the-board Michael Dell will respond to questions from the audience in an informal "conversation" Friday, Sept. 3, as part of the School of Information Sciences and Technology's "Year of Celebration: Bridging to a Digital Global Society."

Under his leadership, the company Dell founded in 1984 with $1,000 has grown to 47,800 team members worldwide and annual revenues of nearly $45 billion. His strategy of selling computers directly to consumers rather than through retailers has earned Dell numerous accolades including Entrepreneur of the Year, CEO of the Year, and Man of the Year from various organizations and publications.

Dell serves on a number of committees including the World Economic Forum, the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and the International Business Council. He is the author of Direct From Dell: Strategies That Revolutionized an Industry.

The "conversation" will begin at 1 p.m. in the Cybertorium of the Information Sciences and Technology Building.
