Welcome to Diversity Outreach and International Engagement

The office of Diversity Outreach and International Engagement in the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) was established in 2003 to ensure the college's understanding of the issues related to maintaining a diverse and equitable community.

One of our core functions is to develop strategies to recruit and retain students, faculty, and staff from underrepresented groups, including women. This includes working with the Schreyer Honors College and International Programs, closely partnering with IST's director of marketing and assistant dean for undergraduate programs, and exploring ways in which diversity program opportunities can be enhanced. Another responsibility of this office is to host the IST Diversity Committee, which brings together students, faculty, and staff to address community climate concerns.

College Core Values

Since August 2006, a group of IST faculty and staff has been engaged in identifying the college’s core values and devising recommendations to enhance them. With IST Dean Hank Foley’s approval, that team’s report is now available.
