Biography
David Reese serves as a director, advisor and/or consultant to a number of companies. Reese currently serves as Chairman of the Board of API Systems, Inc., a technology consulting and IT staffing business, whose clients include Verizon and AT&T, and Visual Incite, a digital signage company, whose clients include the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and the United States Golf Asociation (USGA).
Reese previously served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACTV Inc., a New York City-based digital media company. Reese arranged the sale of ACTV to DirecTV parent Liberty Media, and Reese concluded his consulting relationship with Liberty Media in 2008.
Reese is recognized as one of the founders of the “Interactive Television Field”. ACTV partnered with established companies such as News Corporation, Motorola, AT&T and NASCAR in the development of interactive television and targeted advertising initiatives. In 2003, and again in 2004, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognized ACTV and Reese’s team with an Emmy Award in the category of “Outstanding Achievement in Interactive Television for a Single Program”.
Reese began his career with Deloitte, an international consulting and auditing organization. He specialized in the consumer electronics field and served a number of industry-leading clients, including Toshiba and Panasonic.
Reese contributes significant time and effort to philanthropic activities at Penn State, where he was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year in 2004. In 2000 Reese was recognized as an Alumni Fellow, the highest honor bestowed by the University’s Alumni Association.
Reese was the first chair of the Advisory Board of Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology. From the program’s inception, Reese led a team of corporate experts who devised a program whose graduates would understand the impact of technology on business, government, social services and education in a digital, global economy. He remains an active member of the committee. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for Penn State’s Wilkes-Barre campus, and previously served on Penn State's Athletics Committee.
Reese is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
