Biography
Beth Jones took her oath of Federal service in 2003 after completing
more than twenty-five years in private industry, and six years as a
public school educator teaching secondary English and Communications.
She
joined the Transportation Security Administration as Special Assistant
to the Administrator, and has held multiple Details at Department of
Homeland Security Headquarters including working on Secretary Tom
Ridge’s Strategic Operational Integration Staff. She is currently the
Public Liaison Officer for the Transportation Security Administration
with collateral areas of responsibility that include crisis management,
crisis communications, counterterrorism, and the planning and execution
of national preparedness exercises.
Her private sector experience
included positions as Corporate Editor and Director of Communications
in the Institutional Investment Industry, Management Consulting, and a
twenty-five year career with United Airlines in Chicago, Atlanta, and
Washington, DC, where she held a variety of corporate and operational
positions.
A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Jones currently
resides in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. She holds a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Lebanon Valley College in
Annville, Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts in American Studies from
Penn State University.
