The IST Development Office
The College of Information Sciences and Technology's Development Office works to provide giving opportunities to those who are interested in supporting the ongoing efforts of the college. Connecting with IST supports faculty research, provides students with opportunities to expand their horizons, enables administration to create new curricular opportunities, and so much more.
Please spend some time exploring the giving opportunities we have created and consider how your gift can support key areas of IST. There are several ways to give to IST.
Why Should I Support IST?
Our courses incorporate real-world issues and challenges. The curriculum is aimed at producing innovators who are comfortable in the global economy, and who can communicate, work in teams, and create solutions with the power of IT. By making your gift to the College of Information Sciences and Technology, you become part of "Something BIG!"
Important! Please Note!
General donations made to Penn State will not reach the College of Information Sciences and Technology unless they are designated as a gift for the College of Information Sciences and Technology. Donations sent directly to our college do not need to be designated for any special purpose, unless you choose to indicate what you would like to support with your gift.
How to Make a Gift
The type of gift you wish to make—cash, securities, property—will determine the techniques and the special tax and financial benefits available to you. An outright gift of cash or other assets will generate an immediate income tax charitable deduction.
Penn State can put this kind of gift to work quickly in support of the programs of your choice. If you have assets that you would like to give but depend on for income, then you may prefer to make a deferred gift. Several deferred gift plans allow you to make your commitment while providing income for yourself or others.
Endowments blend a donor's vision with the college’s needs and objectives and typically bear the name of the donor or donor's loved one.
The college’s Development and Alumni Relations Office will work closely and confidentially with you and your financial advisers to ensure that your gift achieves your individual goals and expresses your personal vision.

- Faculty support - Endowed chairs and professorships are among the most important resources any school can have in assembling and maintaining a distinguished faculty.
