Give to IST
The majority of our students are able to attend Penn State through personal or family resources, financial aid, and scholarships. Each year, however, a small percentage of students find themselves in uncharted waters. A death in the family, a parent’s job loss, or a health condition can suddenly put a degree in jeopardy. In these special cases, a faculty member, instructor, advisor, student aid counselor, or other University official may bring the case to the attention of the Dean’s Office. This is where the “Completion of Dreams” fund plays a critical role.
Each year, the “Completion of Dreams” Endowment provides funds for the dean to address emergency situations and strategic opportunities that are in the best interest of the college. Providing a child care stipend for a highly regarded doctoral candidate, covering the semester’s tuition bill for a student whose supporting parent has lost a job, and contributing travel funds for a once-in–a-lifetime research opportunity are all examples of how the IST “Completion of Dreams” Endowment would allow the dean to meet the needs of the IST Community.
In addition to helping students at a critical time, your gift to the college would provide an important example of philanthropic support that will further the goals of For the Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students. The essence of the University’s campaign is to make Penn State the most student-centered public university in the nation, and your gift would go right to the heart of this mandate.
